December 2015: 
A workshop on Nazrul was held at University of Connecticut (UCONN). The event was sponsored by the Nazrul Endowment committee of UCONN and participated by the faculty members of UCONN, Profs. Cathy Schlund-Vials, Roger Buckley, Glenn Mitoma, Angela Rola and other members of the Endowment Committee, Prof. Sarah Tasnim, Mrs. Bela Chowdhury, Mrs. Samina Manwar, Dr. Rokeya Haque, Dr. Baishali Kanjilal, Dr. Gulshan Ara Kazi and Mr. Kazi Belal Shahjahan. Syed Tipu Sultan, the president of Nazrul Academy of New York and prof. Ziauddin Ahmed, vice chairman of the North America Nazrul Conference committee, wereInvited guests. Main topic of discussion was “Nazrul’s philosophy relating to human rights & dignity”.
June 2015 – A cultural program based on Nazrul’s songs, music and philosophy was presented by the Nazrul Endowment Committee of California State University, under the leadership of Mr. Shiper Chowdhury and Mr. Moazzam H. Chowdhury. The event was jointly sponsored by California State University, Northridge, CA (CSUN) and Taranga of California(TOC). Acclaimed Nazrul singer Shahin Samad was the featured singer.
2008: Kazi Nazrul Islam Endowment was established in University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT (UCONN), USA, under the leadership of Kazi Shahjahan & Gulshan Ara Kazi. Asian American Studies Institute and Asian American Studies Center of UCONN areassociated with this project.
2004: Kazi Nazrul Islam Endowment was established in California State University, Northridge, CA (CSUN), USA, under the leadership of Kazi Shahjahan & Gulshan Ara Kazi. Departments of Religious Studies of CSUN is associated with this project. Through these programs yearly Nazrul Lectures are held and undergraduate students earn credits for writing papers on Nazrul
